In past updates, Skylum indicated that the DAM will take its Luminar product "in a new direction," bringing with it customized workspaces, a cleaner interface, speedier workflows, and more. The update will be free for everyone who has Luminar 2018. The new Luminar (with DAM) will bring you great speed and the most incredible user experience available. I know it has been a long wait, but we don’t want to ship a product that we would not use ourselves. We promise we will ship the DAM this year.

But mainly because there are so many people who need this tool, we wanted to take just enough time to make everything right. We know that hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people are waiting for this update. Tsepko likewise confirmed plans to provide the DAM for free to existing Luminar 2018 customers, saying: Last month, Skylum CEO Alex Tsepko stated the Luminar Digital Asset Manager update would be available by the end of 2018. The videos detail the DAM's speed in a pair of speed tests and edit sync feature in a third. I'm pretty happy with Lr Print but I was very happy with Qimage before switching to the Mac.Skylum has released multiple teaser videos revealing aspects of its digital asset manager (DAM) for Luminar. With regards to PRINT I'm waiting to see what Qimage for the Mac will do. I've not had enough time with it to judge its ability to handle RAW files demosaicing and applying "Lens Corrections" based on the meta data that are in my Fuji X files.

It's easy to round trip from Lr to Luminar 2018 so you can easily maintain your LIBRARY and PRINT as you do today. These can be tweaked and saved as new presets. There are a LOT of textures and presets available that will quickly get people close to the look they're after. Its extensive enough that many people will avoid trips to plugins and PS to achieve what they want. The ability to quickly tweak photos to taste will appeal to a lot of people. There are a LOT of features in Luminar 2018 that don't exist in Lr Classic DEVELOP. The video demonstrates how quickly the image browsing works in Luminar, which could become a serious rival to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom with the addition of digital asset management. Where it currently excels is in what in Lr is the DEVELOP module. Skylum have posted a short video showcasing Luminar with its upcoming image catalog (DAM), which will be released in December 2018. DAM which will come in 2018 therefore no LIBRARY module

I've started playing with Luminar 2018 on my iMac.
